Nasi Ambeng

Nasi ambeng is a traditional dish perform in a special occasion or meeting. It is a special menu eaten usually by four in a big plate/dulang proper layered by banana leaf. The main course are most likely chicken, salted fish, serunding, rice, vegetables etc.

The Nasi ambeng have to be divided to four parts and pack properly also with banana leaf after last ocassion. Nasi Ambang also call 'Berkat' or 'bontrot' when it brought back home.
Nasi Ambeng is a Javanese cuisine which is wrapped and served in a tray. It is divided into 4 serves. Formally, it is given after feasts like Yasinan and others.
Bontrot/berkat is a typical dish served in feasts after wedding ceremonies, Yasinan (reciting Yasin) and others. The term of bontrot/ berkat was derived from the Javanese language.



It is a very nice dish and symbolised the strong community and friendship among javanese people.

CARA CARA HIDANGANNYA
Hendaklah letak daun pisang itu diatas dulang. Selepas itu bubuhkan nasi putih diatas daunpisang itu di ikuti ayam goreng dan daging rendang. Lapiskan sehelai lagi daun pisang itu menjadi lapisan yang kedua diikuti lauk sambal goreng dan ikan selar goreng. Pada lapisan ketiga dan terakhir semua lauk seperti paru goreng, begedel dan serunding hendaklah diletakkan kelapisan yang ketiga sebelum ditutup lagi dengan daun pisang. Dan jangan lupa pada sambal tumis, sambal belacan dan potongan timun itu hendaklah diletakkan disudut dulang untuk menghiasinya. Selepas itu barulah boleh dihidangkan pada para para tetamu.
